Q:What qualifies a family for Help 52's support?
A:Any family with a member facing critical illness or trauma, from the ICU to cancer victims, is eligible for our help.
Q:How does Help 52 select the families they want to help?
A:The range and scope of the families we hear about is so broad that we do not utilize a specific selection process. We review every nomination we receive, and look for where we can do the most good with the resources we have available.
Q:In what forms does Help 52 provide the financial aid to affected families?
A:The type of aid we provide depends heavily on the situation. At present, we are primarily focusing on what it takes to bring families together. This includes arranging travel for family and friends to visit the family in question, including everything from airline tickets to hotel reservations and car rentals. We are looking forward to broadening the ways in which we can help as our organization grows.
Q:What donation methods do you accept?
A:We are really excited because we just added the ability to accept donations online through PayPal, including all major credit cards (you don't even have to have a PayPal account). You may also mail written checks to our P.O. Box.
Q:Can I only give $52?
A:No. $52 is the standard donation given once per year by our supporters in the spirit of our $1 a week mission. Howeve, we understand that our supporters may feel compelled to contribute other amounts, and we accept those with the same level of gratitude. We do encourage donations made online through our PayPal system to be at least $20, since each transaction incurs a small fee. This helps us make sure we can maximize how much of each donation goes towards our mission.
